ECM clearing?
Before my motor went in my truck it would light the tires just from a stop with full throttle. I found the overhead to be at about 20 mpg all the time when in reality it was down around 15 or so. No programmers were evident and the dealer denied the possibility of there ever being one. I found something stuck on my fuel supply line labeled enerstar. Just a little box that has a hot and ground wire to it. Anyone know what that is?
Anyway, I unhooked that little box when i put my motor back in (with the upgrades in my sig) and with the new engine it doesnt seem to want to spin them at all, feels like it actually has less power. The overhead is now saying 15 mpg average and Im getting just as good a mileage if not better. If someone had flashed the ECM with a program, would it have been cleared back to stock by being left without power for 3 or so weeks while i built my motor? I didnt think it would but i have no other ideas.
