I found that EBC makes ceramic brake pads for the trucks that we own, 50% less dust (mine throw out a lot of brake dust). Has anyone tried them...comments?

Not hijacking,I'm with you. I hate constantly cleaning the massive brake dust off of the front wheels all of the time.

Any good suggestions for better brake pads people?

I have always been told they are hard on rotors and to stay away from them . True or untrue I do not know for sure , never used them .

Stay with factory or a soft pad. The ceramic or metalic tend to warp the rotors. I speak from experience.

I have ran ceramics before, but not on a truck of this size. I had a Sporttrac with ceramics and slotted rotters with not problems. Maybe the slotted rotters prevented me from having rotter issues. I have heard and read to stay away from ceramic pads if you "tow". I towed with the trac but only about 6k infrequently.

I would look into hawk pads, they seem to be the best bang for the buck out there.

I installed ceramic pads on my ford ranger last year and hated them. They wouldn't fade, but constantly had a squeek like the wear pin was rubbing.

i have run ceramic pads on other vehicles- hardly any brake dust-no brake noise or squeal- also, no problems with the rotors,etc. when my truck need brakes i'll be putting on ceramic pads!

I have not used them but also have heard that they are extremely hard on the rotors and not the best for towing. This was from my son when he was doing brake jobs for a tire service center.
