not sure about number 2 but number 1 is made from 5/8 mdf and it has been my experience that you would want it to be thicker. that doesn't mean that it is not a good box. i guess it should be more about how serious you take your music and how it sounds than cost. the box i have is out out of my older car and it was in the trunk and now sits on the rear seat of the truck until the weather warms and i can build or buy a new one but it must weigh about 100 pounds with 2 10's in it and is built from 1" mdf. the next one will be atleast 3/4 mdf if not 1". i have looked around online and by the time i pay shipping i can get the same box at one of the many local shops for about the same price.
i am by no means an expert but i do like my music to sound good at any volume. i may be 44 yrs old but it still ain't too loud.

I will second this. I am getting ready to either fiberglass a box in or get a box like this. Either this or ProBox. I have tried the box you have listed with the two subs and got rid of it in about 2 days. I am currently just using a piece of 3/4" mdf over the whole opeing under the back seat. I sealed it with expanding foam and it sounds great. I just want cleaner bass now.
