EBay Shopping

Been browsing around, and have found some pretty good deals on stuff. Even found Mopar oil filters for my ride for 93 a dozen. Naturally, being as how I just ordered some Fleetguards the other day. How has the shopping experience on there been for the guys that use it? Whole thing just seems vaguely shady to me, lots of opportunity for someone to swipe credit card #s and such.

I've sold stuff on it before and it ain't as easy to get a credit card number as you may think. I highly recommend going through pay pal. It's free, easy, and completely secure.

I second the pay-pal idea. I have had it for 3 years no problems. Ebay has been good to me except some electronics and I have found if I buy stuff in the U.S.A it is almost double the price when it gets to my door, its the dollar, shipping, customs, and taxes so I am careful.

I have used paypal in the past, but I just don't trust ebay in general. I rarely buy something from one of the auctions, although some things are just too good to pass up!

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

I have never bought on ebay but have sold. The only problem I have had is with PayPal and will never use them again for anything. Not sure, but I think there there is a current class action lawsuit against PayPal.

I've bought a few things on E-Bay and had no problems. My wife, however, last month tried to buy some videos for my daughter from a vendor with a very good rating. She never got the videos and the vendor apparently decided to abscond with everybody's money because a couple days later there were lots of bad comments about the person and they were nowhere to be found. I guess it's just a risk you take. I try to buy from people in my general region here in case I have a "problem" I can just drive over to visit them...

A young kid I know sent $1300.00 to a guy in Florida for some rims for his Mazda and never got anything and, once again, the person just disappeared.....

People will try to take advantage of you face-to-face, so why trust someone you'll never see?

I am an auto theft investigator, There are a lot of stolen parts on Ebay. They try to help us, but they are overwhelmed with the problem. Just be careful when you are buying big dollar items.

Bought my truck off Ebay - as well as several other things, and sold 3 vehicles there. I've had some difficulties with both buyers and sellers but have always been able to resolve them. I'm a happy Ebayer.

Bought and sold. Had one guy "back-out" but ebay refunded the listing fee after 10 days while I had to follow some resolution steps. Bought my CTD off ebay PayPal can bee a little steep an "service" charges so if you and the other guy can wait on money orders you'll save a lot of money, especially if you're the seller. Faster, cheaper and easier than the news paper. Had my paypal acct hijacked and paypal immediately refunded the money into my account. I think a couple of sellers got screwed though, already shipped the items and got the money yanked out of their accts. Again if you can stick to mailed money orders if you're the seller you'll be fine. If you're the buyer PayPal is the best and safest for you.

Funny thing you mention Pay Pal service charges Fastzilla, I just got an email from them saying they are refunding all of the service charges to my account. A whopping like $10-20.

i have bought and sold many things on e-bay. i prefer to use paypal on those transactions. one thing to be aware of is paypals e-mail policy, i recieve numerouse e-mails from someone CLAIMING to be paypal, but they are not!. they always want you to confirm your password or log on to this (suppoed) paypal site and log in to update. i have never updated my things anywhere but the secure paypal site, NEVER log onto a site and use your password or CC thrugh an e-mail link, it can say one thing and send you to another site. i work too hard for my money, i need it more than the scam artists. true, payapl has fees, as does e-bay, but they are providing you with a service, you just have to see if the fees are worth it to you, i do not have a problem with them, i think a few percent loss for the time savings and the service of provididng a wide selling market is well worth it. GOOD LUCK, and be sure to know what your buying and how much you are paying, especially for shipping.
