Dyno Tips Please
We are having our annual Clairemont Round UP this coming weekend. Please read my sig and come up with some temporary tune up tricks so i can post the most power with what I have available on the dyno and I will be eternally greatful.
I figure I would start out with putting the AFC spring on top of the diaphram or just take it out completely.
2. Clean my air filter and replace the fuel filter.
3. Make sure I have plenty of 50/50 mix W/M.
4. I even thought about loosing the muffler.

run the smallest tires you can on the truck, make sure they are aired up properly, dont take the truck off the dyno when you make adjustments, that dose matter, make sure they got a GOOD exhaust system on the dyno if inside, is it a eddy current or inertial wheel dyno?? cause those can throw very different numbers out.

Normally he runs the truck up to about 55 mph on the rollers and then nails the fun button to the floor until it defuels. Last year I couldn't break 200 hp and torque was only 450 pounds feet.

Sounds like Dave Dunbar's dynojet. He does all the operating on the dyno. Not to worry, he knows how to get the best out of your truck. I suppose if you wanted to tune your truck, you could max out your timing and maybe turn up the fuel a hair.

27 trucks x $75 = i need to buy one of those, lol. personally i don't know how much i'd change, i like to know what i am getting on the street and so i'd say either turn it to where you are gonna leave it or just run it as it is.

The timing I can adjust, but the fuel...............there ain't no more. I have run the fuel screw to the stop and I don't mean the collar.

Dave works hard for the money. When you figure he has to drag that thing from Ga., set it up, tie down 27 trucks one at a time, do the fun part, then reverse the process to get the next one all in a two day weekend. Plus do all the maintenance and pay for his other crew member. I think I would not want to do that for a living. But when I retire.............Maybe! I think I am going to just run what I have and play with the W/M system. First run dry, second run turn on the juice towards the end, and the third run let the box do the thinking .
