dyno run questions

i am going to put my truck on the mustang dyno that we have at my school this week. my question is since my truck has and automatic transmission how should i make the run i have a lock up switch so locking the converter will not be a problem. my other question is what kind of numbers do you guys thin i will put down with the smarty on 6 and the quad on three.

you get the truck all secured on the dyno:

Release the dyno brake and allow the truck to "idle spin" the drum. Stop and recheck your straps.

Now you are ready for the run:

Start the truck and proceed through the gears lightly...your run will be conducted in final drive.

Build up speed slowly to around 65-70, apply light braking and while watching your boost determine when the truck is ready for the run.

Start the sampling and giver her heck....

Remember that the pick-up on your crank pulley is what gives your your torque reading....get it right before the run.

Also speed is everything. If you start your run at sub 60's you will downshift and spoil the run. Braking during the ramp up is to build boost, all you are looking to do is apply a little drag while still building speed/boost.

so the run will be in fourth gear then right?
