Anyone here dropped the coin for one of these? I was going to hold out and get one when one of my unit-bearing hubs took a dump, but I've been reading claims of 15%-20% fuel economy savings, and at friggin' $4.30+ a gallon, it wouldn't take long for the kit to pay for itself, not to mention saving the u-joints that the Dodge garage what 100.00 a piece for!

I have one and it does help with fuel milage. Fairly straight forward install. The u jounts are the big pain. It would be a lot better if it came with inner axles also and converted to a dana 60 u joint that you can get anywhere and is a lot cheaper.

I know it doesn't help you much now, but Federal-Mougal now offers a greasable Premium front axle joint. I ordered 2 when I bought all the other u-joints for my truck. They run about $35.00 or so. They'll be going in whenever I bite the bullet on order the free-spin kit. So did you end up boring a hole in your hub cap to gain access to the lock-outs, or just leave the caps off?

1895.00 per kit- price regulated from dyna-trac-so all retailers have the same price. i picked up 1-1.5 mpg. but i did not do it for the mileage. i did it for the ease and less expense of maintenance. two other manufacturers offer their
kits too.

Do you have a part number for the greasable u joints?

Just so you know since you have a dually besides the Dynatrac kit you will need a arrowcraft hub extension which costs $350 and to put your stock dually rims on you have to bore out the hole on your rims because of the bigger studs.
The arrowcraft studs are shorter then the factory studs and you can't get longer ones I tried, to get my 22.5's back one I had to buy their 8 to ten adapter.

ramrodd is correct the reamer comes with the kit. looks super, the 2 wheel low reverse is fantastic and the set up is way stronger than stock

I also saw 2 mpg gain (doing highway driving) but agree that the real value is in the wear and tear on the driveshaft, diff, and axle u-joints that can be avoided while free spinning. it think the dynatrack kit is very high quality. Install is pretty straight forward, but getting the old unit bearing hubs off can be a pain. I had to heat and use a press to get my u-joints out of the inner axle shafts, also a pain.

Ill vouch for the EMS kit. I think the quaility is the same as Dynatrac and is 500 dollars cheaper. Plus everything with EMS is off the any parts store shelf.

I have the EMS kit installed. Great product. I have been dissing them though about having to do all of the machine shop work myself. I forgot though, that all of their stuff except the outer hub is indeed "off-the-shelf" stuff. THis makes the kit more serviceable in the future.

Yep. They are Federal-Mogual Premium #464. If your local parts emporium doesn't carry them (mine didn't) you can get them, and just about everything else for your truck, usally cheaper than the parts stores for the same brand name, at http://www.rockauto.com.

I bought all my u-joints through them and they arrived the next day. Give 'em a call and they'll hook you up.
