Has anyone done their bumpers in black chrome? Just wondering about how expensive of a venture it will be? Can the stock bumpers be powdercoated with a black candy to give it the effect? Or is it a whole new chrome dip?
Thanks
Josh

I doubt you could powdercoat the front bumpers because they are plastic and would melt. The only requirement for powdercoat is that the material to be powdercoated needs to be able to withstand the 400* baking temps. The same goes for black chroming because they first chrome the piece and then add a transparent black powder-like substance and bake it on (much like powdercoat).

First they chrome the wheel. Then a powder is applied and baked on. The end result is a very hard, almost impenetrable surface that protects the wheels against everything. It even had a dust-repellant-like auality about it.

If that is the case, that black chrome will look excellent. The Photoshop of the black wheels in the Optimus pictures do not give a clear final look, as they are to dark and not shine enough.
DWiggs, can you Photoshop the above wheel pictures in Optimus or better yet, get those 22.5s black chrome and put them on... and while you at it….. Black chrome the 2 stack pipes to match….finally black chrome the Dwiggs in the front……then….fill the application for the next DIESEL POWER east challenge event as I am going to have my money on the black truck!
Yes it is. Looks good on that truck.
