Dw Saga... Help
Well, I figured I had all the parts to cure this darn DW but its not happening. I have a 2" lift and have a set of like new 315 BFG AT installed. (see sig) DW would occur at any bump or off camber road seam 45mph or higher at random. I installed the DSS (?) pitman arm stabilizer bar with NO DW help (and IMO still has horrible steering slop). I installed Bilstien 5100s F&R; rides nicer but still gets DW. New sterring stabilizer installed.. STILL have DW. Next, I get a Thuren ADJ track bar for the 1/4" offset needed for alignment to compensate for the 2' lift- NO DW help there either
OK so its the 315 BFGs right? Nope. I'm possitive they don't help and I wish I never bought them due to the "taller" gearing feel but I took these off and reinstalled the 265 OEM wheels/tires that came with the truck at 65psi. Much better responce but I still get the white knuckle DW on bumps over 45mph!
I was going to order some new load range E tires like the 285 Nitto ATs but will that be a waste too? PLEASE tell me I'm over looking something. Steering box shot? ball joint? Im open to tips
THANKS

After all of this have you had the truck aligned?? If not, by lifting the front you have changed some of the factory spec angles and that might be the cause of the DW.
I had a bad DW problem, so bad in fact I could put either side into DW (one tire at a time) 87,000 miles and no alignment, ball joints that were shot and stock origanal tires. There is not one thing that wil cause DW but many little things not being "just right"

Should I just go get it aligned now with the current 315 rubber and see what happens? THANKS

The only time I ever noticed a slight wobble is when the tire shop just performed the normal spin balance. I turned around, took it back and had them Road Force balance. Never have had the problem again.

Sinc eBFG is owqned and produced by Michelin better wipe them off your list also.
the old BFG's were garbage since michelin bought them out quality and performance are better than they were.
take a serious look at caster have you measured where your knuckles are at and where the axle housing is at relative to the control arms

How bout ball joints tie rods etc. I believe DW is a mix of contributing factors the bigger tires just compound the problem of worn out front end parts. Its not solely the tires to blame because like you said you put the stockers back on and still had DW. A lot of people have had this problem with many different tires and sizes including stock michelins

Let me just say that MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY death wobble ventures finally end by loosing the BFG's..

Oh also, don't get me wrong, you can't go tracking down DW if you have loose/worn components. I CAN tell you though that I have dealt TONS of 2007-2008 trucks right off the lot with DW, so how worn are the components going to be?
Most of these trucks had BFG rugged trails, and the DW was gone with a tire swap..

Thanks for all this additional info. I like the BFG A/Ts and have/ had them on other vehicles but maybe this ram just wont do em as MANY others have stated in the past.
I went with my original plan and ordered the NITTO Terra grapplers in 285/70-17 load range E. My brother has these on his 05 truck and really likes them. He said speedo is only off 1 MPH at 55MPH when compared to his GPS and the "gearing" feel identical to the 265s when driving / towing.
The tires will show up this afternoon and I hope to get an apt made to have them installed and an alignment done tomorrow. hopefully thats all it need as I only have 40k on this truck..
I'll post results once its done, maybe my path will help another mbr with trouble shooting this issue- SS
