Based on your sig, no you don't have a dmf. They come with the g-56 6 speed trans which began sometime in the '05 model yr. Replaced mine at 117k, but it was going out before then.

its supposed to keep the drivetrain vibration down on shut off along with drivetrain noise for all the soccer moms and others who think a truck should be quiet like a station wagon. the springs go out using the truck for what its designed for. towing, its a big pos you dont want it

Well, I am not a master mechanic so this will be crued. The advatage is smooth engagement, the dmf is a 2 pc unit that has springs similar ro a clutch disc. It also covers up some gear rollover, don't ask me what that is, but since I now have an aftermarket perf clutch I notice this when the rpm's are low, like 1k and less. I got a mild perf clutch with kevlar facings. It holds the power from my Superchip nicely but is a bit grabby when trying to manuver in tight spots, especially in reverse. This has gotten better recently as I replaced my 315's with 285's. If I could do it again I would go with the basic clutch from Valair or Southbend. I have a Valair and they have great service. I had a problem with the clutch I received and they sent a me a whole new setup and it has been fine.
