DS Coolant Filter and Espar Heater ?'s

I bought a Dieselsite Coolant filter kit for my Cummins. I also have a Espar heater installed on this unit. I thought i could just cut it into the heater hose that runs from the block to the Espar. A CF member was kind enough to indicate to me the DS filter base is a 3/8's. This would be too small for the Espar we believe. The block to Espar coolant lines are 5/8.

Does anyone run a setup like this ? Plumbing ideas ? Any other insight ? I'll call DS in the morning and see what they say !

I dont want to affect the Espar in any way, it is my saviour at work in the winter as we have no plugins LOL !

Is it too late to return the coolant filter kit? Any place in Ab that sells fleetguard can rig you up alot cheaper. You just need a coolant filter base & filter. I really dont recommend plumbing the filter with the heater. There was a guy @ work did they on a customer truck. The filter plugged, heater wont work, I know if filter is changed, the heater will work. Those heaters dont like restrictions, I install them @ work, have 1 on my truck. I can get you fitting that would make install the filter alot nicer & easier. I would plumb fromt the cylinder head to the block, the head is npt thread. The block is orb metric, there abit more harder to find. I had found place locally that can get the fitting for the block. I can find out if they have a store down south, then you could get the fitting. The plugs you would take out of the block are behind the turbo area. Then you could run bigger heater hose if you want. They have a store in Calgary also. There called Reliance industrial products. Part numbers are LLO AMP2212L08 (fitting), BOS M102-18 (bonded sealing washer). If you have any more questions you can pm me, later Scott.
