one of my buddieswas running his mouth about a diesel truck he just bought a 2005 6 L ford with the bully dog diesel programmer with it set on the highest setting wiht exhaust and cold air.. he wanted to race me but my truck wasnt around so he challenged my friend with a a 2004 dodge diesel drw 3500 with 285-17 toyo m.t's , cold air and a superchip set on high plus he is a 6 speed.. they raced a bunch of times each time the dodge would just spank him rowing past him with the gears. are those fords always that bad.. i figured the superchip wasnt that great of a chip for the dodge,, and i assumed the ford would have run a better race with lets say an SCT programmer.. but serioulsly he beat him by about 4-5 lenths is that pretty standard? lol

ps the ford owner was pretty quiet after that ...

ford do suck in the way that they take 3 grand to go just as fast as a dodge can on a grand but if you take 2 of the same trucks and run them one will always beat the other ie driver makes a big diffrence.

the guy in the 6.0 didn't know how to drive. With a good driver the dodge would have been toast.
With a sct near sealevel a cc drw 6.0 will run low 14.20's

well i left out yesterday that after that race approx a week .. we tried firing up that 6.0 and wow. it sounds like it was running on about 2-3 cyl and it was smoking lots of grey/black/white smoke lol turned out his diesel ecm was finished.. tookhim and hour to get it idling lol this is about 3000 kms after he had all of his injectors replaced at his cost lol silly guy put stock ones back in and didnt bother looking into upgrading studs..

it was from a dead stop.. the dodge launched in 3rd he has a aftermarket clutch.. not sure which kind tho.. outofsite.. he was running a bullydog.. not an SCT TUNER and i was on the dodges side on this race because of course im rather loyal to the ctd dodges.. and why would we switch drivers lol he was braggin that his would smoke our quote" pos farmer trucks"

dont get me wrong i know there is some fast 6.0L out there but we just kinda wanted to shut him up for a while lol apparently his wasnt fast enough with him driving.
