Drive shaft support bearing size

I have 95 2WD with a drive shaft support that has play in it and want to replace. I have a source but don't know what size the I.D. is. Anybody replaced this and remember the size on it?

If I remember correctly there are actually a few different sizes that were used for that application. I've had to replace mine twice and each time I just took it off and matched it to the new one.

I am afraid that looks like the way it is. There are two listed, one is a "type 1" the other is a "type 2" and they have different I.D.'s. Guess I will take to the local drive line shop I use and let them look at it. If it's a press on or off I can't do it any way, we are traveling and no tools for that available. Thanks..

drive shaft bearing

Having gone through this a couple of times you can look at your own bearing to determine what one you need. If it is shaped like a "U" with no ears than it bolts into the bearing assembly itself and it is the larger diameter. If you have the "U" with two ears one on either side where the bolts go through but then screw into the truck that is the smaller inside diameter. I have not worked on a tremendous amount of these trucks but the ones I have worked on had the larger diameter for the diesels and the smaller diameter for the gassers. As a matter of fact until recently the parts books did not even list a carrier bearing for the diesels. It listed one only and it was the smaller of the two which was for gassers. The napa threads below show 2 numbers. The first is for diesels and the second is for gassers. They have pictures and you will be able to determine which you need. I hope this helps. Joe
