Drag racing with 4.56 gears

I'm thinking of going with 35 inch tires and changing out the 3.73 gears for 4.56s, in case I want to go to a 37" tire later. I would probably put the stock wheels on to race at the track. Anyone drag race with 4.56, an auto and stock size tires? Do you run out of gear at the end of the 1/4? I am thinking that the 4.56s will make the truck feel peppier and help with spooling. Would the 4.11s be a better compromise even if I went with 37s? The highest posted speed limit here is 45mph so I am not worried of running out of gear on the road. Also wondering if there have been any problems with stripping the pinion gear on trucks with 4.56 gears. I don't have any performance stuff on the truck now but will start once my trans is in.

I can tell you with 3.73's, 265/70/17 it is almost out of gear at 100 mph with a 6 speed. I think it was like 3100 at the end of the run. I would imagine 4.56's and stock tires you would be gear bound by the end of the run.

I had 4.56's and 37's on my 04. At 100 mph I was turning 3200 rpm's. I like the 4.10's with 37's alot better.

There is not a very wide selection of gear sets available for our trucks especially 4wd. I was hoping to find 4.30s but no luck. I guess 4.11s is the best compromise

well one difference is your 04 was a stick and he has a auto. I have not drag raced mine yet I am waiting to have my twins put on next month. Anyway I can tell you what rpm I am at at say 70 mph it is 2000 rpm's.
