DPPI Exhaust problem - good service.
I really appreciate companies that participate in our online forums - that's a sign of a committment to customer service and market research IMO. I see Mark posting a lot here and had equally good service over the phone today. I just wanted to post about my experience with DPPI this morning.
I've had the 4" t409 system on my truck for a few months now - maybe 20k miles. Well the roads up here in Cleveland are like a mild form of baja racing if you haven't driven up here - they are bumpy and potholed and awful from the excessive salt and frozen winters. Anyway I was going over a reasonably bumpy section of road the other day and I heard a loud ting/snap noise. Well after closer inspection, I see that my rearmost/tailpipe exhaust hanger snapped, broke right at the weld to the pipe. I'm not sure if this is a compatibility issue, since the hangers are t304 and the pipe is t409, or just a fluke. Either way, I placed a call today to inform them of the issue. Since I'm the original purchaser of the system, this was covered under the 5 year warranty - and they are sending me out a new tailpipe. No hassle, no questions asked, a 3 minute call. Just wanted to give a heads up for great service. I hear some of the banks horror stories (not necessarily exhaust related) with customer service, so I thought I'd post a positive experience.

Hey Lightman
When you get it apart will you check it out a little closer and let us know what failed? The weld, the hangar, corrosion, or? I have the same system and love it. Just curious. Thanks,
Wetspirit

It clearly failed at the weld. Being that it's the back hangar on the tailpipe section, it's easy to see from behind the vehicle. The metal separated right on the weld. It's making the worst vibrating noise, I hope it doesn't take long for mbrp to ship out the replacement.

Lightman,
Thanks for the comeback. Sounds like you could throw a hose clamp on it for a couple of days till the stuff arrives.
Things are busy around here tonight, have you noticed?

Same thing happened to mine, corrosion at the weld. I called Mark, he told me go get it repaired and send him the bill. It cost me $25 to have it fixed, and an hour of my time, never did send him the bill. I also had a problem with my rear diff cover I bought from him, the wrong one was sent. Mark had the right one to my house in 2 days, with a pre-paid return UPS shipping label for the bad diff cover. Would I buy from him again, YOU BET! The service I have received has been top notch, with no excuses related to the two problems. You can't ask for much more. I wish all companies were run like DPPI.
