I'm sure you already tried turning the dimmer **** all the way to the off position?

yes its in the door latch. also another problem could be that a wire is broken inside the door hinge rubber boot. known problem. wire gets bent over and over and wire weakens and breaks.

ok no broken wires were found, the dimmer switch seems to be working fine and I have disconnected all the door switches and the dome lite is still on. Any ideas,

I had a problem where the light would not stay on for more than 5 seconds or so. I disconnected the batteries for a minute and reconnected and they worked fine. Might try that.

On my o4 the domw light switch is the light itself. Just push on the light. so, maybe pull the cover off the switch and investigate. Good luck.

one time, i pushed the dome light to shut it off. it actually pushed the switch apart that clicks it on and off. had to take the cover off, then get to the switch.

I had this same thing cause my dome light to stay on all the time. Someone had pushed the pass. side map light and it broke the switch apart. Something was shorting out and holding the lights on. Once I pulled the switch completely apart the dome lights started working. Now I just need to find a new map light switch. Good luck finding your gremlin, mine drove me crazy trying to find it.

Found the problem. The map light switch broke and shorted out. taped it up and everything is back to normal, minus one map light.
