Dome light issues

Ok guy's I can't seem to get this thing to work and I absolutely will not go through another winter without a cab light! What are the typical issues with these things? I see that the door switches have a three wire connection how would one test these??
Thanks

Have you checked the bulb?
Checked to see if the headlight switch turns them on?
You can narrow down the problem this way.

If you're refering to the two 'map lights' in the overhead console, I just replaced mine because the switches in the assembly had melted.

I found a replacement set form someone who was parting out their truck.
The replacement didn't have the MPG/Milage/Temp readout like mine so the wiring was a little different,.......nothing that 15 minutes with a soldering gun and some heat-shrink tube couldn't solve.

Yes I checked the buld Bill I'm thinking it has to be one or the other? Headlight switch or the door switch? It's the dome light at the rear of the cab. Is the anything else it can be? Anyone have a diagram?Nothing like going out in the snowy dark and fumbling for my keys.......

I think what Bill was referring to is can you turn them on with the headlight switch?

If so, you could rule out things such as a broken wire, burnt out bulb, etc.
