Mine doesn't seem too. Got it to over 110mph and it wasn't shutting off like my 1500 did...

Truck is in the sig.

You must have 3.73 gears...my truck is in the red at around 100mph...I am pretty sure that these trucks don't govern because of speed, they defuel because of RPMs though...

yeah 3.73s. Got it up to around 110 at like 2900 rpms or so. I was going up a fairly steep hill, then came down at a little over 110.

I've had mine up to about 95MPH or so. The RPM gets up to about 3400, then it just holds there.

My truck definatley has a speed limiter. It pulls like a freight train until about 108mph than falls flat on its face. The way it feels I don't think it is the rpms.

Mine has 3.73 and it will pull till about 112-114 mph! I do know after about 45 minutes at that speed the computer says I am getting 7.5mpg and with a small load at 100mph I get 4mpg! Oh well I am making good time!!

When I had 1100 miles on the truck I had it up to 113 and it felt like I had more to go.

I know what you mean!! mine still gets up to that speed even with all my miles and it feels like it could do more!! I just wish I had a 2.73 gear and a 7speed tranny and see what she could do!!

I read on here awhile back that you can cycle your key to the start position and back (computer won't let it actually start though) to override the speed limiter. Never had a need to try it though. BTW, these trucks are rock solid at 110mph.

JWOODEN,

That is correct!!!!!

While crusing turn and hold the key in "crank" mode. Everything will shut off except the engine (radio, gauges, and overhead display). This is suppose to eliminate the speed limiter.

That just sounds horrible for the truck.... I don't think I could bring myself to try it...

Peak - who is that in your avatar?
