does this sound like a good deal?

i found a 1998 quad cab 1 ton with a 24 valve and 5 speed for $3000. it isnt running right now due to low batteries and possibly a bad ip and lp. it has 180,000 miles and i checked for codes and i got a p1688, p1689. the body is in good shape with minor clear coat problems on the hood and front fenders, the tires are fairly new, and as far as the interior goes the dash isnt cracked and it has a small tear in the drivers seat. it also has some kind of bd performance chip. im planning on buying and fixing it then selling it to make a little profit. please let me know what you think

the two codes point to a bad VP, so add 1000$, also check the front suspension...ball joints /track bar, if they are shot add another 500$. Around here 3000$ would be cheap

the guy said he put $900 in the front end a year ago, but the driver side front tire looks a little choppy so that tells me it might have a weak ball joint

inspect it close, as every dollar you put in it cuts into your profit margin, different story if your keeping it for your self
