Does anyone have or know about the 305/70R17 Nitto Terra Grappler?

I am currently considering a tire upgrade, and was going to buy a set of 285/70 BFG A/Ts or Toyo OC A/Ts, but I am afraid they might be a touch too small for my tastes, particularly after I go with a Lorenz level kit. I just double checked Nitto's terra grapplers, and they now list a load range E tire that's 305/70, which measures out at 33.9" tall. They also have a load range D tire that's 295/70 which is 33.2" tall. Both of these might be better options when going with a 2" level kit. Does any one have either of these, and if so, do you have any photos??

Thanks!

Im running the 295's d class and it is a pretty soft tire. Very sticky on dry and wet pavement but is also wearing pretty fast not sure about the larger one that is E class rated my guess is wouldn t wear as bad. I would say go with the 305's or 315's i think next time i m doing the leveling kit and one of those 2 sizes.

Look at the Toyo Open Country A/T 285/75/17, I think they are a 34" tall tire load range E. I just got them and I think they look great.

Ah, very cool. I just found them at tiredeals4less, but they aren't listed on the toyo site yet to get full specs which I'd like to see. Maybe I'll e-mail Toyo for the info.

Thanks! I got the tech specs... 33.8", 614 revs per mile, 80 psi max, 7.5-9.5 approved rims, 11.7" section width. Looks like the perfect tire!

I have 36,000 miles on a set of 295's and they are still half tread. They fit fine with a 2" level kit and a 17x9 rim with a 4.5" back space. I now have those back on my stock rims for winter and a new set of 305's on my Centerlines. They will touch my fender at about 1/3 steering turn if I am on any kind of uneven ground, but these rims stick out pretty far. I don't know why so many guys have bad luck with the tread life cause mine are awesome. Maybe they need an alignment or something, who knows. I will be buying another set when the time comes. And just for info about 11,000 of those miles on my 295's were pulling 32' travel trailer. Darn good tire in my opinion.
