Dodge 3500 2004 vs 2005

Are there any significant differences between the 2004 and 2005 year trucks.

Problems on 2004 that were solved with the 2005s???,

Any new features on the 2005 models that are not on the 2004s etc etc????

I can buy either one at the moment and know that the 2004 had the 7 year power train warranty vs I think 5 years for the 2005...

Thanks

Main thing about the 04's is they had two different motor choices the 305 HP and the 325 HP motor. Check the sticker on the side of the motor before you buy. The only different things between the 04.5 and the 05 is different badges on the outside, the warranty like you stated and I believe they went to a drive by-wire throttle set-up in 05. Also some 05's had plastic intercoolers versus metal. Last thing is they went to the in-tank pump set up for the LP instead of the filter mounted.

"VIP summary report" from my dealer says 7/70 powertrain on my 05, was also told the same by CarMax where I purchased the truck.

I owned both an '04 3500 & '05 3500 at the same time with my construction company. Both trucks were identical models (quad cab DRW), and the '04 had the standard motor - the '05 has the HO. I liked the '04 better, it had better throttle response, and seemed to ride better. I sold the '04, and still have the '05. Even though it has the Banks stuff on it, I still kind of wish I had the '04 back.
IMO, either one you won't go wrong!
