How do I remove fin sensor in the evaporator

I have an '03 and the A/C has been freezing up and want to move the fin sensor in the evaporator. I cut a hole in the HVAC housing and can get my hand on the fin sensor but it won't just pull out. Is there a trick to it or do I have to get access the back of the evaporator? Also does anyone have the part number of the fin sensor.

Thank you in advance

It's a freezestat and it should cut off the compressor if it gets cold enough. Some of them have a wire that hooks around the evap. tube. Craig

If it's freezing it's probably low on freon. It's suppose to be where it is.

This is all i could find in the manual it mentions instructions but could not find them you can see the sensor looks to be pushed onto the fins.

I also have a 03, does the same thing. Ratlratl on here works @ a dodge dealership. He told me, just put it in the center of the evap, as it near one corner. Said no parts had to be purchased thou. Im dreading pulling apart the dash.

No tsb ...this is the star recomendation

Replace the evaporator temperature sensor with part number 5140727AA. Relocate the new sensor to the upper right hand corner of the evaporator. The distances are taken from the air exit side of the core, with the top denoted as positioned in vehicle. 5 5/8 inches (143mm) from the outside LEFT plate (this corresponds with the 12th fin column from the left) 2 inches (51mm) from the TOP of the plates (not the top of the tank).
