How Do I Know If My 48RE Governor Pressure Soleniod Is Bad?
How do I know if this thing is not working correctly? I've read all about how they go bad frequently. Just changed my trans fluid. filter, band adjust about 5k ago, need to know if I should go back in and change the Gov Press Solenoid. The trans seems to shift a little hard and jumps around a bit getting up to speed.
Thanks,
fatpete

Pete, mine shifted HARD but just had a rebuild done with new gov solenoid plus other parts and she's like silky smooth... I'm liking this WAY better than what I had before.

Thanks for the replies guys. I know the bands are correctly adjusted, made sure to very meticulously do it right. Also, this was going on before the fluid, filter, band adjust.

It's possible that it could be your TV adjustment causing your shift problems. Do a search on throttle valve adjustment, your truck has a different system than mine, so make the search year specific.
