I have an EZ Oil Change valve (from geno's garage) and changed my oil last nite (truck was warmed up, let oil drain until it only dripped out), and my driveway is on a slight slope (front lower then rear)... I put 11 qts (10 + 1 in the filter) back in it..

When I check the oil on the dip stick it reads about 1/2 qt over the 'safe' mark... I am fulling pushing the dipstick in when i check it..

Do I need to drain the oil down to get it at or below the 'safe' mark?

Would the EZ valve keep ~1/2 qt from draining out? it does stick up above the bottom of the oil pan.

thanks..

I certainly wouldn't worry about a slight overfill like that one. Almost always on my truck, when I check the next day, it is 1/2 qt over...draindown, I think.
george

thanks for the advise on the overfill.. I didnt think 1/2 qt would be that much, but just wasnt sure...

The EZ valve is so, so NICE! No mess, no oily hands..

Now i want an EZ valve for my gf's 2002 Honda CRV.. Anyone know what size drain valve it has??

thanks for the advise..

b

Pretty sure that little bit of overfill would never hurt anything.

Probably not even enough to make it foam a bit.

Very few of these Dipsticks read correctly, not you Hoss the oil dipsticks. ;D
