Do I Have A Leek?

My wife noticed some fluid dripping from our 05 2500,she called me at work to let me know. When I got home I found some wet spots on the driveway and some on the drivers side frame in back of the wheel well,it was clear and smelled a little of diesel.Looking up from the frame I also noticed a little moisture on the fuel filter canister(which I changed last month as well as drained the fuel water separator).Any ideas what this may be?Thanks for any help.

Probablly brake fluid dripping out of cowl.

Well maybe not. Sounds like filter housing leaking. Recheck cover seal. Drain valve will sometimes require cycling a few times to reseal. Heater and WIF sensor o-rings(?) can leak also. Clean it off and recheck. My long distance internet vision is offline currentlly. Line it up at 8:00 AM and I'll take a look then.

It is possible that a leak has propagated between the cover and the housing. The o-ring may not have seated properly or rolled when you installed the cover on the cannister. Try removing the cover, reseat the gasket and install the cover. This also may only be a situation where you did not tighten the cover enough during the filter replacement. I had that same situation you mention occur once where the fuel filter cannister was damp. It was a matter of tightening the cover a little more and wiping off the cannister.
