Dleay's shift from 2nd to 3rd.
Guys I'm shooting for the fences with this one. I'm looking to buy a 98 RAM 2500 for 7000. I haven't seen it yet cause it's a 2 and a half hour drive. This is what the dealership is telling me.
Russell,I just went for a drive with one of my best mechanics.Unfortunately, I still dont have a real answer for you.An exact description of what it is doing is delaying shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear.The problem is we can not tell if its not shifting because the turbo is not spooling up or some other issue.When you take off very easily it seems to go through all the gears a little better.Like I said before,I dont get enough of these cummins trucks in to have a lot of knowledge about there turbo and fuel systems.
I know that aint much but I'm praying someone here has had this issue before and knows what their fix was or maybe can give me an idea what mine may be. He said before that the trans fluid wasn't new but the level was good. Any hints and tips would be appriciated. I'm gonna go test drive this week.
Could this be a shift kit or programed for towing? My last was a 92 W250 with the GETRAG 5 speed. I don't know much about the computer controlled stuff.
