Disconneted both batteries, truck still has power?!?

I am working on my Dad's 2001 3500 and needed to disconnect the batteries. First both negative cables off. The truck still has power and not just a little. All dash lights on, radio blasting, underhood light on, fan blowing at high! Then I disconnect the positive cables, so no cables on the batteries at all, truck still blasting tunes!!!!
Has anyone experienced this before?
All accesories working perfectly. I can't crank the starter but the starter clicks rapidly if I turn the key.
No extra batteries in the bed or under the truck, etc. This thing is totally stock.

Hmm... something to do with the stereo equipment? Big capacitors?

Where are you parked?

Sometimes I feel like an idiot. Our single car trailer was hitched to the truck, so the truck was pulling power from the trailer's Optima. I didn't know it could do that. Sorry to waste a post.

I knew there had to be a battery in there somewhere!

Just wish I would have been smarter and thought outside the box a little more...

That there is actually very funny. A ghost in the machine would be hard to deal with!

Not a waste, good way to learn. Always eliminate the simple stuff first.

I only wish mine would stay running with an empty tank. I would not complain.
