Disaster! The Dually is Totaled!!!

About a week ago, this woman pulls out from a parking lot right in front of me!

Now, what to do? I need another truck! But thinking maybe I don't need a dually? I just tow an open car trailer but I want to move to a one car enclosed soon. What do you guys think?

Also, they offered me $6500 for the truck...enough?

thanks!

Dave

as for do you need a DRW again, i would say no but its what ever you want. also as for the 6500 thats ok, you could talk to them about buy back. if you have the time and money sometimes buy back will only be a few hundred bucks and you can part it out and get another few thousand out of it. just my 2-cents

You had a nice truck, Suggested retail of it is around $9,100. The insurance company is pricing it between the trade in and private party price. I wouldn't settle with that.

ditto on the bumper would like to know what she was driving. sorry to hear about that. parting out a 12 valve would be good if you have a 5 speed alot of people wanting those. the diffs etc. plus if your bed is okay. to bad your bumper does have a life time warranty. is that bumper repairable with the right welder might be something to take off if you end up taking the $. if you bought a 2nd gen again possible fix repair the bumper if possible.

Id say the bumper did most of the damage to the truck. Sorry about your loss.

Sorry about the wreck. Wow, a Kia .. If you buy it back from the insurance and don't want to mess with it, put it on DTR, I'm sure that someone will grace your hand with some $$$. If you want to upgrade to an enclosed trailer later, I would stick to a Duelly. I some times pull my 28' enclosed with my wifes truck (05 2500 CC SRW ) and it just dose"nt feel as stable. My opinion only..

6500 isn't enough I've seen firs gens that are all but rusted out go for that much on eBay you'll want to stick with a dually for an enclosed car trailer

That's horrible, why can't people pay attention and learn how to drive?

I will say front bumper that wrap around the fenders also are a body shops best friend.
The little added protection from bushes just destroys the vehicles when in light/moderate accidents.
