Difficulty in hooking up 24 valve electronics
I'm going to transfer a Cummins to a '75 crew cab, and I may have a lead on a low mileage 24 valve. Could anyone tell me how hard it is to hook up the electronics on the engine so it'll work in this truck? I know it's been done, but I'm not sure what all is involved.

Boy, I would think that by the time you are done you will have a ton of labor in it. I think that you need to have the donor vehicle right there so you can get everything needed to get it to work properly.

I believe it would be much easier to locate a good donor Non-Electronic 12 Valve-Cummins to drop in. 
Waaaaay simpler to hook up.

Well, that's what I would have thought, and I wouldn't have even considered a 24 valve, except for the fact I have a lead on a relatively inexpensive 24 valve. And I had read someones post one time that it wasn't that hard hooking up the electronics. And finally, it seems you can get more power out of the 24 valve and still have it be drivable, compared to the earlier engines.
