differential oil change

Bought 6 quarts of Amsoil 75W90 symthetic for my 04.5 Dodge 3500 DRW 4X4. Have changed the rear end and have 2 quarts left for front end but specs state it requires 2.2 litres. I am just a little shy and my local supplier out here in the sticks does not carry Amsoil. Would it hurt to mix .2 litres of another brand of 75w90 synthetic to top it off?

I filled the rearend to the bottom of the fill plug. Is this too much, should I pull some out to 1/4 below fill hole or have other people filled to hole with no adverse problems?

I'm not saying it will but some oils are NOT compatable with each other. If I were you, I'd wait for another shipment from the guys in the brown truck and put all of one brand and type in your front.

I agree that I would not mix brands. Some of them state they are compatible with all other oils but I like to keep them the same. I personally would pull a little out of the rear end, others might not. There is room for a little variation as I recall it does say +-.
