Differential oil--change with what???
Looking at various oils and wonder what I should use. Anything as long as it ts GL-5 rated???? Mobil 1 synthetic was $14.95 per qt. Valvoline was 4.95 and Costal was $3.40 per Qt. Supplier told me he used to work at a local Dodge dealer and that they used large pails of the Costal at the dealership when changing fluids....Right now cost is a big issue but warranty wise I don't want any issues. My thinking is that the Costal 85-140 for the price should do OK. This is the first change and plan on doing it at about 7000 miles due to planed trips with the 5er and truck within the next 2 months and it still has factory oil in it. My manual still says 75-90 but quite a few have said Dodge changed the spec to 75-140 but so far only can find 85-140 so...... Any one see any problems with using the above fluid and brand. Other wise they have Lucas but again 85-140 for a little more money.....but only stock 3 qts at a time so would need to have them order the 7 qts I need.
Thanks for your thoughts....

I changed mine at 15K. Used AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR 75W-140 in both diffs. Any synthetic gear oil will do the job. Book calls for 75W-90, but there is no down-side in using 75W-140. Both weights will perform the same in the cold weather, but the 140 will afford better protection under severe conditions (towing heavy loads) or in warmer climates.

Dodge has just changed the recommendation from 75/90 to the 140. I guess all the owners are supposed to get this notice from dodge shortly. I drained out the factory stuff the day I brought it home. Break in oil is NASTY, grey stuff. I tow heavy sometimes and it needed to go. I also installed a PML rear diff cover!! I did use the 75/110 by AMSOIL but switched to the 140 because of the towing and heat, as well as the Dodge warranty station!!
