Differences in HP & torque

I was reading through the Chilton's manual this evening and notice that for the 89-93 trucks the HP & torque is listed at 160/400 respectivley for both auto and manual trannies. However, starting in 94', the list the HP & torque at 160/400 for the auto, but 175/430 for the manual tranny. What changed from 93' to 94' to cause this? Is that when the NV4500 came out? I'm just curious if the same held for our 1st gens...
