What is the difference between pre98 and 98+ steering boxes

Looking for a new steering box and I see that there is a 50 dollar difference between the pre 98 and the 98+ steering gears. Why is my question. Truck currently has a box of a 96 v10 on it. Help me out if you know of a good price on a box, money is a little tight until I sell my car.

I used a steering box from napa. It is a 3 turn insted of a 4 turn. It has worked well for me. The part number is 277604.
