Difference In a 99CTD and 2002CTD engine harness
I have a 2002 CTD Engine I am going to replace mine with it, the new one has little over 100k on it. I know the Map sensor and a few others are different. My question is are there going to be any wiring or major problems sticking this motor in my truck. Or do I just use the 99 sensors on it and my harness???? Any advice would help thank.

My suggestion would be use your 99 wiring and ECM, PCM, and sensors. Have not researched but can just about guranteeeee something will be different. Or yes. The tranny control solenoids are different. The OH console is different. Some communication protocols are different. The VP44 is the same. Not sure about cam sensor/crank sensor and other sensors. Sell you left over components from 2002 for makeup.

Try the 2002 ECM, but afraid will run into communication protocol issues with other components. On swap like this, it seems as something is always different enough to really ruin your day. Sell 2002 engine and buy a 99!!!
