didnt hear anything like that. It's been going up and up then after the big labor day weekend it's starting back down now. Just 3 months ago I was paying $3.52/gal and 2 weeks ago still at $4.45/gal. This past week it has dropped about a quarter. Tonight it was $4.29/gal

There was a refinery fire and breakdown a month ago so I suspect thjat was a good enough reason (or excuse) to jack the prices even more than they usually do at this time of year.
I'll keep my 500 gal drum filled anyway... just in case...and the truck topped off like usual.

It's a good excuse. If supply and demand set the price instead of speculators, we'd probably have $2 gas and $2.25 fuel right now.

I'm glad I'm only playing $3.71 (sometimes cheaper through Kroger I also can get up to .80 cents off from that price) for diesel and not $4.29!

That's what I did yesterday...Using my Discover card made my effective price $3.47/gallon...It only took half a tank, but that's because I just filled up two months ago......Ben

I got a $0.20/gal. discount yesterday @ Chevron because of some beta testing for a grocery chain. Brought it down to $4.17 here. What a bargain. With the tank vent mod,I crammed 38.5 gallons in it. I was on vapors.

Surf,

Just like the world is going to end in 2012, just disregard what was said. Seems people have nothing better to do than start speculative rumors.

A good general rule of thumb. If you tell enough people something and it's repeated over and over, a lot of people will being to think it's true even if it's false.
