Anyone else subscribe to the "Diesel Power Magazine "? It seemed awsome with the first issue, then the second issue was all fords,
Man i hope im not going to be seeing alot of them darn Fords. My Brother just bought a Brand new 2005 Ford F250 something something Diesel. Now heres the funny thing ... he just turned 20 and doesnt have a steady good paying job... dear lord.. Lol .. hope that thing doubles as a HOUSE.....cause hes gonna be paying for it for ever. Now that I think about it .. Make 50 K a year, and got turned down for a 15K car loan once .. how do you make 15 K a year and get a loan for 40K? I smell a family conspiricy here..... LoL,
Sometimes it sucks being the hard working child.

The issue that's out now... is the one with the duel duramaxs on the cover(I think). Inside there's a page long article on how he's sorry for coming off 'ford biased' in a few issues and that he didn't mean to get the Cummins guys all riled up. The article did get a bit of a chuckle out of me because there's a few times where he seemingly trys to put on a front of how us Cummins guys are snotty and 'over proud'. Then at the end he says something about glowplugs... and again... I laughed

I happened across an the latest issue here in Florida, and it seems very well written. Good articles, alot of advertising but that is what brings in the money. I think I may subscribe.

The one Duramax has a yellowtop, to ensure ignition(or something like that)

Will they ever learn?

Did anyone else noticed this?

The Cover says "Two tons of torque" Well, Two tons is 4000 pounds. Page 52 says "Combined...2000 lb-ft" 1 ton Who did that math????

Ya, noticed that too. Seems like a good mag, I probally will subscribe but not sure. They need to show more of the work turck and less of the show truck.

The problem is that the flashy show trucks will generate more impulse buyers at the rack... Focusing on the work trucks/older trucks etc would limit their readers to people who own diesels... Which would not be a bad thing if you ask me.

I was wondering if anybody else caught on to that article. That guy doesn't have a clue. A couple of cummins guys just pointed out how biased (Ford) the magazine was and he got all bent out of shape. I wonder why nobody has said anything about all the Banks stuff?

I filled out the online subscription a while back and never got anything. I bought one at Wal Mart and will not buy another. I hope they lost my subscription because I don't even want to pay for that magazine, it sucks.

That's another issue that bugs me. Gail Banks may be a smart man(to an extent of course) but I don't find what he has done to be all that impressive. Sure in 2003 he set the 222mph record in that Dakota, but that only got 12. something in the 1/4 mile... I mean really, I don't find that to be jaw dropping. Now... a bunch of the boys that are ALMOST in the 9 second times... now THAT is cool. All those Banks adds are a tad misleading and leave members of the new cummins crew a bit baffled as to what power these trucks are REALLY capable of. Just my own opinion of course...

I sent in a subscription card and still have not got a subscription. Its a cheap mag and I figure at least I will have something to read at work.

I wonder about all the Banks stuff too, but you have to remember that advertising pays the bills and Mr. Banks does do some advertising....

Banks achievements in the diesel world are fantastic because they bring diesel to the spotlight, but I tell you what, you give Piers or Schieds or any of the big shops as much money as banks speds on special projects and they would have a diesel pickup on the moon. Heck wasn't it Jeff Garmon who put an old 12v motor in a dokota that ran in the 12's stock.
