Re:diesel gel

The only time I had fuel gel was when I fueled in sothern Iowa and wound up in Kenora, Ont. and the temp was about -25 degrees. I put some additives in and it liquified just fine. I do think straight #2 does begin to gel about 30 degrees, but I have been wrong before.

Re:diesel gel

I am not sure when diesel starts gelling, but I use stanadyne performance and have never had a problem with fuel gelling. I think it's power service that has this stuff called 911, that you put in the tank after you have a gelling problem. I have never had to use it, but my brother has seen it work first hand. I guess it will even thaw a fuel filter, and works in about 20 mim or so.
