Did Dodge use spacers on the drive shaft support bearing bracket?

Did Dodge use spacers on the drive shaft support bearing bracket?
This looks like somebody "customized" this. The support bearing is holding the drive shaft almost 3/4" too low, so its way out of straight. Worries me the universal's are seeing stress they don't need.

I've seen that on 'big' trucks but never noticed on 1 tons. I know some people that stretch or shorten frames will intentionally make the drive-line just a tad out of being perfectly true to MAKE the u-joints work and flex. They claim that they will seize up if they are in perfect alignment. I've lengthened and shortened a fair amount of trucks in my day, but I'm sure none of them were so perfect that I had to worry about the drive-line being in perfect alignment!

The reason I noticed it was that when I changed support bearing the center of the bearing was lower on the new one. I worried that a previous owner had used the wrong bearing and had shimmed it down to work.
This was the old one:
This is the new one: Anchor part# 6038 ID 1.5478 w/spicer 1480-1550
