Diablosport Annoying Me!
When my truck is at idle, if i rev the engine my truck shutters when the rpms fall under a 1000, but idles fine when gets back to around 800. So I feel the shutter between 800 and 1000. Anybody else have this problem? If I keep revving it a few times it will stop. I have also noticed that my boost fooler makes it worse. What is causing this problem? I know Diablosports are junk is it in the tuning or what?

Mine does the same thing but I just noticed it. I reved it for my son because wanted to see some smoke and I thought it was going to die when I let off. I didn't do it more than once so I don't know if it will clear up. I have heard both good and bad about the predator but mine came with the truck when I bought it. What tune are you running?

I wouldnt say that Diablosport is junk. Their customer service is what sucks. But alot of guys are making big numbers on Diablosport's tuner. The best mileage Ive ever seen out of my truck was with a Diablo. With proper tuning my Smarty gets around the same, but no tuning involved on the Diablo. I ran a Diablo and Quad boost fooler combo for quite a few miles and never had the problem. I'm sure its just in the tuning.

Mine doesn't do it on stock or tow tune. I just got gauges and am surprised at how hot the performance tune runs. Just going up a gradual hill unloaded with 3/4 pedal and I was at 1500 degrees FAST! Caught me off guard so much because I didn't think it would get that hot that fast and I wasn't looking at the gauge.

It may not be as good as a Smarty but it's definitely not JUNK. Some trucks just react strangely to certain mods for some reason. My truck does not do any of these things you are talking about and neither did the 07 truck I had that also had one on it. They do have their own forums where you can get info from the actual person that makes the tunes too...
Txwelder, the 600 engines make a lot of heat even stock. I think a boost fooler will help you bring those temps down once you get the correct one.

Yeah I need to learn how to order the right parts. Stock I can barely get to 1000 deg but can peg boost at 32. Tow tune the egt's are quicker to rise but barely cross 1200. On performance tune it's all I can do to keep the egt's under 1000 with minimal pedal. My boost gauge starts bouncing real bad from 20 psi on up. I gotta tow about 10k trailer cross country in two weeks and don't need any heat issues.

I run mine on the 100hp tune and have never seen my egts over 1100. I have even turned it to the RKL tune and never got to 1200, with me trying. The truck runs a lot better with the boost fooler off the truck. With it on, I feel like my truck loses torque at all rpms. And the truck does the low rpm shuttering a lot more with the boost fooler on. But my boost gauge bounces off 32 if i get on it pretty good with the fooler off. I am thinking about selling the Diablosport and boost fooler both together and getting a smarty.

You are right I have thought before that my temps should be hotter than what my gauge is showing. Is there a way to check to see if my gauge is wrong?

My thoughts exactly! Where is your probe? 1200 deg on 200 hp tune, I refuse to believe it. I ran stock, tow and performance tunes yesterday and watched the pyro like a hawk after I caught it on 1500 on the performance tune. My truck runs hot as heck. My 96 12V Auto with 370's, 18 deg timing, 100 plate full forward and 3k gsk never got close to 1500 deg. Not with the stock turbo and surely not with the super B turbo I had. This thing runs hot!

I can't really see how the truck would lose power with the fooler on either unless it's defueling due to the higher boost but that's the whole reason that you run a fooler. It's possible that the fooler is bad...
