Diablo Predator= Total Junk!!!
I was just all excited around noon when the UPS guy shows up with my new predator for my truck. I go out and try to load a tune and it went to 100% then a error code came up and said it did not take the tune. It then prompted me to install the back up tune. I have been outside for almost 4 hours unhooking batteries etc. and the POS Diablo will not load the tune
I already called off work and they are jacked because I am the supervisor. I talked to Johan? at Diablo and he did not seem too concerned. He said to flat bed it to the dealer and let them fix it. He said the internal memory of the ECM is messed up and it must have been going out and the Diablo aggravated it! What a line of B.S.
Now I have to find some way to get the truck to the dealer and I am terrified of what they are going to tell me. I can see it now...... there goes the turbo fund

That is Diablo for you. They take the existing stock program, modifiy it, and sent it back to the ECM. If it doesn't copy the stock tune right, it messes everything up. So when you reload that stock tune, it won't right then either. I had this happen to a friends Ford truck.

I've had my Diablo for quite awhile now... I cannot remember how many times I've changed tunes on my truck with it.... Dozens of times, probably... all without a hitch. Like anything else electronic, sometimes there's a glitch.

If you can get ahold of a BDTD, BD can send you the stock programming and fix it. I loaded my old BDTD into a buddys truck, and it didn't load correctly, truck wouldn't start. I talked with BD, gave them the VIN, and they sent me a file with stock programming for HIS VIN, and everything was fine...

Well, I had the truck rollbacked to the dealership. It was kinda funny because my truck was about the same size. I went down to the dealer and talked to the foreman. I got the truck there at 5 and they close at 6. He took it in right away and started on it. The DRB needed updated so he was going to stick around and get it done for me tonight. I am waiting on the call to come and get it.

Diablo sucks I got stuck changing a program (on my 06 dmax)540 miles from home and called and the guy said call back in 3 hours the guy that knows Dmax's the best is out. I got on the dmax site and someone helped me fix it and I sent mine back the next day with a nice letter as to why.

Great
The PCM is not able to be read. It will not communicate at all with their software. The tech said he was going to mess with it some more tomorrow and unhook the ABS computer to see if it will make a difference. He seems to think it is wishful thinking and I might as well plan an buying a new PCM
Good ol' Yohan, Johan, or whatever his name is is not going to be happy with me in the morning. What a POS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know that a Bully or Smarty will force a program into the PCM? I will buy one and overnite it if I knew it would work.

Wow, I am really sorry to hear about your troubles... I do hope it gets worked out for you without too much expense. I'm not feeling all that great about them either from just one question about the puck.

He will misteriously be out of town tommorow when you call you watch give them a different name when you call that way he wont be able to weazle out of a reaming of a lifetime, been their done that and got my name slurred all over by one of their techs after a heated discussion at tx diesel nationals. That is one of the main reasons why we dont sale any of their products nor run them anymore or ever again flat out junk with horrible tech support. If you get on their forumns and take a look at the threads with members posting around problems they either find a way to blame it on the user or the vehicle not their junky product, or they just simply ignore the thread. They have been telling us with 06-07 guys they would get back to us asap and the problems we were having but that was 6 months ago and we have since had numerous trucks with injector issues like crazy. I hope that tech doesnt dig too hard b/c the diablo is as visible as plain day if he digs a little and then that ecm will be on your $ and out of warranty labor cost is 2x more then warranty pay. Good luck with your problem hope all works out.

Yeah, I dont try and hide stuff from the dealer. I gave him the predator to see if they could figure it out. I have a PM to Bob, hopefully a Smarty will fix it, but I am not very optimistic about it.
