Diablo power puck
O.K. for all you guys and gals that are or have used the Diablo power puck what's the skinny on this thing?
I'am still looking for a mild upgrade for towing with MPG increase in mind. I still would like other information besides just MPG on the diablo power puck too.
Thanks,
Ron

Just put mine on yesterday, I like it so far have not get the MPG by hand yet but the over head looks good at about 18-22 on the highway..The added power is real nice no more downshifts to pass. It will spin 35'' tires a bit of the line.

Go ahead with some light tranny work and it will make it even better.

Diablo talked me into skipping the Puck and using the Predator. They said the Pred does what the Puck will do and then some. I think they only meant that in terms of power. I came to find out that the Puck is pressure and the Pred is T&D, until the high program. My Pred didn't help mpg but edited by admin, does it ever run!! I might try the Puck and play with it individually and stacked. Everyone seems to be happy with pressure boxes for a little more power and mpg. Craig

Thanks for the replies.
I'am still undecided on what to get.
Diablo power puck.
Quadzilla XZT or standard.
Edge EZ.
I keep looking at the low price of the Diablo power puck and adjustable from stock-60-90 Hp. Will have to buy a boost fooler which will bring the cost back up to compariable to Quadzilla XZT. Can also keep the power puck in the engine bay. Don't want any signs of installation by having to run wires into cab.
But, Quadzilla keeps me thinking about buying their module with great customer service. Also low priced but not as low as Diablo power puck. Don't like the idea of running wires into cab which can leave installation signs.
If there was only one box and one company it would make decissions alot easier.
I need to keep it low budget. Help me decide????

Get the puck you will like it, 10 min hook up, one small wire for the switch to run inside, puck will slide down between the battery blanket for safe keeping and real easy removal , no velcro or anything is needed that would show.

I was thinking of just keeping the power switch under the hood also. I know it won't be a true switch on the fly but at least I can change the settings and don't have to run wires inside the cab. Those pesky dealers .
The thing that matters the most to me is EGT's while towing. That will be the biggest deciding factor along with price.
Thanks again,
Ron

I don't know what the whole scoop is on boost fooling but I've read the 305s don't need it - I get lots of boost without defueling. It's very easy to pull wires thru the rubber boot next to the column - no drilling or cutting anything. Personally I'd love to have switch on the fly. The only reason I haven't bought the Puck yet is because I don't drive the truck much and I have so darn much spring work to do around the house ! And it runs great with just the Pred. Craig

O.K. looked under hood. Looks like the shifter cable grommet would be an excellent place to pull the wires. Nice soft rubber grommet moves to the side real easy.
