The useless Cummins dealer in town doesn't stock delivery valve washers. I phoned the dealer, they want $25.50 each. Is this what they're worth??

I checked with the dealer and I was quoted around 15.00. I was working on setting the timing on a 96 and I pulled the number one delivery valve and there was no washer so I figured that someone forgot to install one so I checked with the dealer and was quoted that price then I pulled the number two delivery valve and it also did not have one either so I left it as it was. Does anyone know why there was none in this 96 with the 215 motor???? ??? ??? ??? ???

There wasn't any in my 98 pump either, I don't know for sure but I think there in the 160 pump trucks.....94'/95'.

I was thinking the same thing cause my 160 pump had them also. Do you think that removeing them on a 160 would help the performance seems to me like it would give more lift??

If there's none in my 180 pump, do I still torque the valve in using the 2 step method, 29 ft-lbs and then 85 ft-lbs in one motion?

There was none on my 180 pump either. If you don't have them when you stat the job you don't need them after.

Inquiring minds need to know, can we leave them out of the 160 pumps?

Make sure the washers go back in if the pump had them in the fist place.

Any change in the height of the DV holder will lower or raise the spring rate of the DV spring = not good.

Put 'em back in on removal.
