Death wooble, ball joint info.!
Well I have been living with death wobble for a year now. I have replaced the stock steering stablizer with a HD one which helped a little. Then started going through front end. Replace stock shocks with HD ones, made no differnce, also added 2" front leveling kit. Then found a little play in ball joints, which i hear a little is ok.
I spend some hours researching ball joints. I called many manufactures and read many forums. I thought about NAPA, Mcquay Norris, XRF, Carli and Dynatrac. Well after everything i decided it would be Carli or Dyna trac. Both companies were very helpful answered many questions. To be honest the only reason I went with Dynatrac is due to cost.
THen no one around here would or even attempt to order them and install. All the shops wanted to install mainly Moog. Which my response was polite but no, not only no but hell no.
I am generally mechanically inclined so I called and talked to Dynatrac and asked about what BJ press they use. THey said miller tools and emailed me the instructions with tools needed.
So I bought some used off ebay motors and one adapter from a tool vendor. IF there is anyhting I want to really stress is that that adapter socket that snap on makes. Well that thing is worth its weight in gold. Literally my bearing units were on there good and that socket works better than they say. After replacing u joints and ball joints my front end is better than brand new. I will say take your time have the right tools. Luckily I got family and friends that now want me to do there BJ's for a fee of coarse like a BBQ or something! Thought I would pass along my experince and this has resolve the death wobble I have been having, nice to be able to go above 65 again with out my front end feeling like it was going to fall off the frame.
Just wanted to pass on my experience since this had been a big problem and topics. Good luck!

This is what tools the instructions say you will need:
· Ball Joint Press Kit, Or Shop Press Equipment (Miller Kit – 8975)
o Miller Tool Kit Should be Used With the Dynatrac Kit Sold Separately
o C-Clamp (Miller C-4212F)
o Press Tools (Miller, 8975-1, 8975-2, 8975-3, 8975-4, 8975-5, 6289-3)
o May have to order Miller tool # 6289-3 separate from kit # 8975
· Dynatrac Ball Joint Installation Kit CR9.2-1X3050-B (For use with any installation kit)
· 1-1/8 Socket
· 15/16 Socket
· Calibrated Torque Wrench
· Pry Bar
· Wire Brush
· 4 Quarts of Gear Oil (Optional)
I would order the snap on adapter socket #DHP1 for removing hub.
bearing grease to put on splines of axle
BP blaster, stuff is amazing espically if you can soak all connections/bolts hours in adcance.
My u joint would not budge and did not have a press, finally i soaked it with PB blaster and had dinner came back hour later and it pounded out way easier.
also 5 lb hammer and 3-4 ft cheater bar to press in BJ they take amazing amount of force to seat them.
ALso anti seize for hub so if/when you need to remove in future it will be a breeze and to coat BJ's for a easier install. hope that helps.

I didn't know I had that much untill the scales , ,try that with a ford or chev , no thanks , the truck handled
it just fine . enjoy your day !
