Dealer never said a word...

Hey there, I took my 07 5.9 in for the dealer to look at the little oil seepage I had from the back of my turbo. They said it was all fine and dandy and not to worry. This is a dealer that specializes in the service of diesel trucks and they know thier stuff!! Over 150 new cummins on the lot! LOL

But my point........ I took it in with the Pac brake, 2 micron GDP fuel filter set up, Gauges. No word was ever mentioned about the Pac brake. I thought surely they would have said SOMETHING about the PAC. But nope!! Never mentioned any of the other improvements either. Same dealer replaced my Injector few months ago. Why is it that some dealers try to void warrantys for the littlest thing and others don't care?

It is not that they don't care. They know what the parts do. Gauges and a fuel kit have little in common with an oil leak. Thier response or lack there of is concidered the normal response from my dealer.

LOL These service writers actually have a conversation with you over the phone about your concerns before taking the time to bring it in! LOL Maybe the leak has to DRIP or something before they will repair it?

They will say nothing UNTIL they think that the parts you have changed/added might have some bearing on a failure THEN it becomes a VERY different story.

Also, YOUR attitude and maybe years of being a customer vrs first time customer, etc. Treat them the way you would want treated - goes a long way too. Sometimes a dealership will ask questions that sound more like an interogation, then you get uppity, they get uppity, then you loose. Simple as that.

I so far have had no real problems with my truck, little stuff, so I cannot say what would set them off as far as my mods. I only have about 5K left on my 3-36 warranty, so we are about to part company on many levels outside of the 100K on the engine/fuel system. I also have done my own maintenance so I have spent less time with them than others. I do know that I would not go to them for any repairs, they are too slow, have to order everything so nothing gets repaired in same-day or next day at my dealership. I can get parts faster than them, so even buying parts from them is not in my scheme of things.

the same reason you can buy something at store A, and they are polite and make you feel like a valuable customer, while you spend even more money at store B, and they treat you like dirt. the service mgr. at my dealer says he doesn't want to loose customers over some small mods made to someone's truck, as long as the truck doesn't appear to be abused or beaten on, and he doesn't want people to think of going to his service dept. the same way they feel about going to the dentist.

I told them they came highly recommended and I appreciated how knowledagle they were. Everyone greets you even if they are not working on your truck!
