He would definately notice the power. I rode in a buddy's truck the other day with DDIIs and it was a lot faster than my dually. Those injectors won't work without some sort of a boost fooler. Hope that helps.

Yeah, I agree. Your buddy is gonna need the boost fooler with along with a boost elbow or Turbomaster to get the best results. DD2's should add about 90 hp to an HO, and thats too much extra fuel for stock boost levels. 275's are probably max for no boost fooler on a HO.

The injectors are kinda "sneaky quick" compared to a box. The EZ with stock injectors will give a big hit in the low and midrange, then fall off at the top. Running the DD2's with the EZ's data link cable unplugged so that it's only serving as a boost fooler, the truck's powerband feels a lot like stock since the ECM is controlling fueling again - weaker in the low and midrange than the EZ - but the bigger injectors are delivering more fuel across the full RPM range than the stockers, so you don't really notice a big "hit" at any particular place, other than the engine just keeps pulling after 2800-2900 RPM.

On an HO, the DD2's will feel down right awesome. The HO's respond very well to injector's.

A boost fooler can be found here: http://www.psdieselproducts.com/page3.html

all it does is lie to the ECM about the amount of boost it is recieving. The EZ has one built in.

I have an extra boost elbow he can have. Although he must have a standard tranny for the elbow to work. The autos have a hardpiped line, and the elbow wont work.

good luck.

Sorry man. You will need a boost fooler for sure. I was a little, how should I say this, out of it last night when I posted. The DD2's will for sure cause the turbo to produce more than 20 psi. Your buddy will definately like the extra power. The boost fooler Palmetto Kid posted will work just fine. Personally, I'd buy an EZ to go along with the DD2's. That way you'd get the extra power of the EZ PLUS a built in boost fooler.

So your telling me that before you hit 20psi the added fuel from larger injectors won't add power?

Not really.

If you don't have the air to burn the extra fuel, it will exit the tailpipe as smoke and soot, lost horsepower.

You will see some gain at lower rpms, but not near what you should be seeing.

How does a Boost fooler increase air at <20psi?

I don't discount the fact that a boost fooler will be needed for better results.

Boost fooler doesn't increase boost.
It fools the computer into thinking there is less boost so it doesn't defuel.
If the computer sees more boost than whatever it is set for, it will turn down the fuel thinking there is a problem.

Boost elbow, turbomaster, or j-hook keep the wastegate closed so the turbo can create more boost.

More fuel = more exhaust = more boost = more of the extra fuel burned = more horsepower.
(simple terms of course)

Bigger injectors will result in more fuel.
You must have more air to burn the extra fuel, or it is wasted.
The above items allow you to burn the extra fuel.

Otherwise you're throwing away money.
The money to buy the bigger injectors.
The money to fill the tank, since some of that is just going right out the tailpipe, unburned, unused.
