Got a quote for $450 materials and $500 labor from dealer to replace....mine's a massive spiderweb with one hole about 4in across. Rattles every time I hit a bump, but I can't see spending $1000 for a new dash at this point. Thought about ripping it all out and leaving a slight edge all around it and buying the dash piece from Geno's and gluing it down but haven't looked into it any further.

They do make what is called a dash cap. It is molded to look like the original. Most dealers offer them in factory colors. My dash has been cracking and I have mended it pretty well. But since it is driving me crazy I went ahead and ordered one of these dash caps. It hasn't come in yet so it may be a POS. But since many of my friends have the same problem, I was elected to be the lab rat. $159 including shipping. I'll let everyone know the results.

They probably gave you a price for the whole replacement dash. The top piece that is cracked can be bought at the dealer for around $150.00 and takes about 2 hours to install.

Sure---that is what I paid for mind, plus sales tax...retailed for $191.00. Most of the mats and covers will cost almost that much delivered to your door but you will still have a cracked dash under them.

Could you provide the part # and color for yours? I only have one crack that is sort of mended, but with only 481,000 miles I try to keep my truck looking like new.

The Dodge part number is " 5GK45RC8AB I/PANEL " The color for this number is dark gray...also my truck is a 1999...I think the top of the dash is made a little different than 1997 and earlier...not positive. The dealer can order you the correct color by using your VIN.

i took the part no. to two of my dealers and they both quoted me a little over 400.00. one of them though said he would sell it to me for 315.00 out the door. i told him about the 195.00 one from one of the guys here and he showed me what their cost on it is and its above 200.00. so i dont know what im going to do right now, mines not too bad. its just getting worse is what worries me...
