It's a 1 1/2 din but with the Navigation bezel you can make it a 2 din very easily.

Still, with the Navigation bezel, you get bigger than double din, so you if you want to install double din you need the nav bezel and an adapter to fit the double din to that bezel.

Both can be found easy on eBay. Nav bezel is around $90 - $110 depending on finish. Adapter is around $15-$20

That is correct. I figured he knew that a dash kit was still needed, but I guess I should have mentioned it. I put a Z1 in my '06 and the install was really straight forward and easy to do. Also, you can buy an adapter harness from Crutchfield that allows your factory amp to function just like normal and it also places all the NAV connections (parking brake, vss, etc.) up behind the radio for easy installation. If you have that, it's about a 1 hour job tops.
