Dana 80 Identification?

I am interested in buying a 98 12v parts truck and I was currious if anyone new the easiest way to ID if it has a dana 80 in it or not. It is a single rear wheel and it is California...I live in PA so I cant do it myself. The seller doesn't know how to identify either. Is there a digit in the VIN that will tell me?

Brent.

Pop the hood and look at the sticker dead center of the front edge of the hood, should list the axle type and ratio there.

Get the VIN# and call any dealer. From the computer they can tell you everything you would want to know about the truck.
