dana 80 holds 10 quarts?

dana 80 holds 10 quarts?

Am I reading this spec right? 10 quarts of fluid in the rear? Tell me I'm wrong.

According to my service manual, which is for my 96, your 4x4 rear takes 10.1 PINTS, or 4.79 Liters. For a 2wd it is 6.8 pints.

Mine with the magtech cover holds eight.

When I changed mine Dana 80 on my 2500 it took not quite 6 quarts. Plus a little friction modifier.

No, its a 70 but I would assume the capacity for gear lube is similar.

My 2500 has a Dana 80, it is not the 70, I checked my vin# with the dealer just to make sure.

You're right about that, it is in the DRW trucks, but also in the HO's that are 3/4 ton. I love rubbing it my roommie's face about his "small" little rear axle!

my 97 2wd has a Dana 80...

My understanding was anything with duals , or a manual got the 80?
