I'm just curious what the differences are between the 2500 80 and the 3500 80. Width, mounting points, etc.

I have been told the dana 80 in a 3500 is 5 inches wider than the 2500, I have also heard that the 3500 cab chassis models are narrower than the reg. 3500's but I'm not really to sure on that. I have been looking to turn my 2500 into a dually and have looked around for parts to do the swap and thats what I've heard. I think they bolt up the same so you can take an axle out of a 2500 and put it in yours. I have also heard there is some kind of spacers on the front axle as well. Just curious are you looking to make the truck in your signature a srw? If you want to sell your axles or wheels let me know, I'm wanting to make mine a drw. Good luck

Good question. I am looking to convert my truck into a SRW. Gabe32 (i think) did the conversion. Hopfully he'll chime in.

Not sure if I'm ready to change my truck over to srw just yet. Kinda just exploring options right now, but it could be a possibility since my truck spends far more time on the highway than it does pulling anything requiring dual rear wheels.
